IBG – THE FINEST WATCH DINNER IN GERMANY (D)

19 – 23 May 2014

For the third time the Ebner publishing house (Uhren Magazin, Chronos) invited to „JBG – the finest watch dinner in Germany“. In the cities of Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich the guests had the opportunity to personally experience 14 watch brands. During the two-hour-long cocktail reception when elegant finger food was served the latest watch models of different brands were presented.

WATCH ACADEMY was also present in form of a show watchmaker for the partner brand PIAGET. PIAGET specialises in the manufacture of ultra-flat clockworks. The guest had the opportunity to take a closer look at the two world records of 1957 – 9P and of 1960 – 12P (clockwork thickness was 2.3 mm) under a microscope, while they were given the corresponding explanations.

What innovation the manufacture PIAGET currently offers was shown with the clockwork 1200P. Before the eyes of the guests the clockwork was taken apart into many individuals parts and then put back together.

During the gala dinner the specialist journalist Gisbert L. Brunner presented the evening including 14 watch brands and their novelties, and he gave a review of the SIHH and BASEL WORLD 2014 watch fairs.
